RIYADH: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, or KSrelief, recently signed an agreement to improve learning conditions for school-going children and youth in Yemen.
The agreement was signed by Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz, the center’s assistant supervisor general for operations and programs, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The aim of the project is to ensure access to basic and secondary education for Yemeni students, reduce drop-out rates, and provide a supportive and safe learning environment.
The agreement includes school uniforms and bags for 11,586 Yemeni children. A total of 23 schools will be renovated in the Hadhramaut, Al-Mahra, Aden and Hajjah governorates.
KSrelief will also provide support, with therapists, for students with visual impairments. This education project forms part of the Kingdom’s humanitarian efforts to assist Yemen.
Last month, KSrelief signed a project to sponsor 536 orphans and 166 families through training in Aden, Lahj, and Marib.
KSrelief also launched its 10th volunteer program at Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan that will focus on healthcare, education, women’s empowerment and child protection.
