RIYADH: Kuwait Integrated Oil and Gas Company for Petroleum Industries has agreed a project management consultancy contract extension with UK-based Wood Group for its $16 billion Al-Zour refinery, according to industry sources.

The project management consultancy contract extension became necessary due to the delay in completing the project, MEED reported.

“There is agreement and an approved work order,” said one source close to the project, adding: “Hopefully, this will be enough to see the project through to completion.”

There has been no official announcement from the Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company or Wood Group regarding the extension of the contract.

This is not the first contract extension, as the company issued a change order in 2020.
