CAIRO: Egypt’s Education Minister Tarek Shawky participated in several seminars at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, where participants discussed the global situation regarding education.

“I call on member states to cooperate in order to address the problems caused by the coronavirus pandemic and the millions of children lacking basic reading and arithmetic skills,” he said.

Shawky’s visit to Paris also included a meeting with the president of UNESCO’s executive council, and a meeting on international financing for education.
