RIYADH: The Consulate of Saudi Arabia in Australia’s Sydney has launched an investigation into the death of two Saudi women who died in their residence, it said in a statement on Wednesday.
It did not identify the women by name or provide further details on the circumstances of their death.
In a statement on Twitter, the consulate confirmed it received a report from the Australian foreign ministry and local Sydney police saying that two Saudi citizens were found dead in their homes.

The consulate will continue to follow up with the Australian authorities to ensure a thorough probe is launched to uncover the circumstances of the women’s deaths, the statement added.
The consulate expressed its sincere condolences to the families of the two citizens.
