COVID-19: UAE reports 1,249 new coronavirus cases

DUBAI: The UAE on Sunday reported 1,249 new daily coronavirus cases as indicators show infections may be on rise again after peaking early in January to as high as over 3,100 cases.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention also said there were no fatalities during the past 24 hours.

The UAE’s caseload now stands at 917,496 with total reported deaths at 2,305.

The government continues with its aggressive testing campaign to facilitate early detection of coronavirus cases and carry out prompt medical intervention to those found COVID-19 positive.

A 244,931 additional COVID-19 tests were conducted over the past 24 hours, state news agency WAM reported.
