- Infections more than doubled from the beginning of June
DUBAI: The UAE on Saturday reported 1,179 new daily COVID-19 cases, representing a recent sharp rise in infections.
The country’s Ministry of Health and Prevention said the cases were detected through 253,991 COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours, state news agency WAM reported.
Daily COVID-19 cases in the UAE breached the 1,000-mark on Thursday, June 9, for the first time in nearly four months, WAM earlier said.
Infections have more than doubled from the beginning of June when 442 cases were reported.
The total number of cases in the UAE currently stands at 916,247 including 2,305 deaths and 898,305 recoveries. No death was reported over the past 24 hours.
