RIYADH: The closing ceremony of the second Absher Challenge took place in Riyadh on Wednesday, during which the winners of the Innovative Smart Solutions and Creative Ideas for Ministry of Interior Services track were announced.
The event, attended by Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, included the screening of a documentary film about the challenge.
The results of the second Absher Challenge were then announced. First place went to the team behind a smart customer service project for deaf people, with the developers of the Furijat Negotiator debt payment project taking the runners-up spot.
A smart investigator security system project was awarded third place, followed by a project that focuses on organizing signals for emergency situations in fourth, and the team behind a smart environmental-scanning aircraft project and security resources safeguards in fifth.
Commemorative photos of the winners were taken with Prince Abdulaziz, who also toured an exhibition that accompanied the ceremony and reviewed the top technical solutions and creative ideas featured in the challenge.
About 4,000 entrants submitted more than 2,000 ideas to the second edition of the Absher Challenge, of which 184 progressed to the latter stages.
