RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Southern Province Cement Co. has commenced work on a major plant in Jazan region. Saudi Aramco has also awarded JGC Arabia a contract for some processing facilities within its big offshore oil field. Meanwhile, four teams are set to submit proposals for an independent water project in Abu Dhabi.

·      Saudi Arabia’s Southern Province Cement Co. has commenced work on a new 5,000-ton-per-day plant in Jazan region. In addition to this, the firm’s board of directors has also approved the infrastructure of a similar plant on the same site, Trade Arabia reported, citing a filing from the firm to Saudi bourse Tadawul. 

·      Saudi Aramco has awarded JGC Arabia, a subsidiary of Japanese engineering firm JGC Holdings, a contract for construction of some processing plants within its big offshore oil field in the Arabian Gulf, Trade Arabia reported. Also referred to as Zuluf, the field is located 240 km north of Dhahran and aims to meet the growing global energy demand by boosting production.

·      Four teams are set to submit proposals on May 31 for the contract regarding the establishment of the Mirfa 2 seawater reverse osmosis project in Abu Dhabi. The specified capacity for the project requested in the proposal is either 80 million imperial gallons per day or 120 million gallons per day.
