RIYADH: As China grapples with a surge in coronavirus infections, Apple iPhone maker Pegatron has decided to suspend production in its Shanghai and Kunshan units, CNBC reported.
The Chinese government had allowed Pegatron to operate via a closed-loop system to reduce the chances of infection.
However, authorities have now imposed stringent stay-at-home measures to control the spread of the infection, which finally resulted in the closure of Pegatron operations.
According to a Nikkie Asia report, Pegatron assembles about 20 to 30 percent of all iPhones.
