ISLAMABAD: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has launched a project to distribute 25,000 food baskets among 175,000 people in Pakistan.

The aid packages, together weighing a total of 2,425 tons, will be handed out under the center’s Ramadan Eta’am initiative.

Sunday’s launch took place in the presence of the Saudi ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, head of Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority, Lt. Gen. Akhtar Nawaz, and director of KSrelief’s Pakistan office, Dr. Khaled Al-Othmani.

Al-Malki said the project was part of ongoing support provided by Saudi Arabia to Pakistan via the center.

Meanwhile, on Monday, KSrelief distributed 120 food baskets in Niamey, the capital of Niger, benefiting 600 people.
