6 drinks to break your fast this Ramadan

Here are six drinks you can easily prepare at home this Ramadan to break your fast. 

  • Kharoub

    A popular drink in Palestine and Egypt. To prepare it, mix water and sugar in a pan until the solution turns brown. Add carob and more water and boil, then allow to cool. 

  • Rose sharbat 

    This sweet and refreshing rose-infused drink can be mixed with water or milk. Add fresh mint leaves for extra flavor.

  • Laban

    If you have not had time to prepare a drink for iftar, you can always opt for the salty yoghurt drink laban, which can be found in most supermarkets and groceries.

  • Sobya

    This starchy milk drink is especially popular in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. It is made from fermented brown bread mixed with coconut powder, milk and sugar. It can also be dyed red.

  • Karkadeh 

    Besides its refreshing taste, the sweet hibiscus tea drink is believed to help lower blood pressure. To prepare it, all you need is water, sugar and dried hibiscus.

  • Khoshaf 

    Khoshaf is basically a fancy fruit salad: It is made by adding dates, dried apricot, dried plums, figs, and nuts to a mixture of water and Qamar El-Din (a drink made from apricot fruit leather).
