Abdulrahman T. Bakir is a Saudi diplomat and the representative of the Ministry of Investment in Washington, DC, where he works as vice president of investment attraction and development.
His work as part of the Kingdom’s diplomatic mission in the US focuses on developing, attracting and expanding quality investments for the Kingdom.
Previously, Bakir served as a strategy manager at the multinational professional services firm PwC in Dubai.
During his time at PwC, Bakir worked closely with the Saudi government and other states in the Gulf Cooperation Council.
From 2015 to 2017, Bakir was a management consultant for PA Consulting Group, part of The Carlyle Group in Dubai and London and a subsidiary of Jacobs Consulting Solutions Ltd.
While at PA Consulting Group, Bakir worked on outward investment projects for the UK Department for International Trade, facilitating visits of large British companies to explore investment opportunities in the Kingdom. Additionally, he worked on another project to expand American healthcare investments in Saudi Arabia.
From 2014 to 2015, he was an associate at Value Partners Management Consulting in Milan, Italy and led several consulting engagements in West Africa, Europe and Latin America.
Bakir began his career at General Electric in 2012.
He studied at the University of Nottingham, UK where he graduated in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering and management.
Bakir also earned his master’s degree in international business and policy from Georgetown University, Washington, DC. He is also an advisory board member at George Washington University.
Bakir is a KPI Institute certified strategy and business planning professional. He also earned his certification in Lean Six Sigma green belt from General Electric, and innovation in government work from Edraak.
