RIYADH: The Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen said 16 civilians were injured after a drone targeting King Abdullah airport in Jazan was destroyed on Monday.

Falling shrapnel from the destroyed drone caused the injuries to civilians inside the airport.

The drone was launched from Sanaa airport and aimed to target civilians, the coalition said.

Earlier on Monday, the coalition said that an armed drone had fallen in a village in Jazan called Al-Mabouj. No injuries were reported.
