- The debt acknowledgment service enables the borrower to certify acknowledgment of debt owed to someone
- The acknowledgment of debt repayment e-service enables the lender to declare the repayment of a loan
RIYADH: The Saudi Ministry of Justice has launched debt statement e-services through the Najiz.sa portal that deal with debt acknowledgments, debt waivers and the acknowledgment of debt repayments.
The debt acknowledgment service enables the client (the borrower) to easily certify acknowledgment of debt owed to someone. The client logs into Najiz.sa, selects “Notarization,” “Declarations” and “New Declaration,” fills in the lender and borrower’s information, as well as the acknowledgment details, and then confirms the statement.
“The service requires that the parties are over 18 years of age, mentally competent, with a valid power of attorney if the applicant is an agent, and that the total debt acknowledgments in a single year do not exceed SR3 million ($800,000),” the ministry said.
The acknowledgment of debt repayment e-service enables the client (the lender) to declare the repayment of a loan given to someone without having to visit a notarial office. The same SR3 million limit also applies.
The debt waiver service enables the client (the lender) to electronically certify waiver of a loan given to someone.
E-services are part of the digital transformation and development that the Saudi Ministry of Justice is promoting across various sectors.
