RIYADH: Dubai National Air Travel Agency, known as dnata, announced a major investment exceeding €200 million ($223 million), to set up a fully-automated cargo city at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
dnata Cargo City Amsterdam will help in enhancing cargo capacity in the Netherlands, creating direct jobs with dnata, to be ready to operate by 2024, Dubai Media Office reported on Jan. 31.
The new center will be capable of processing exceeding 580,000 tons of cargo annually. It will comply with the highest industry standards providing safe handling of all types of cargo, as perishables, pharmaceuticals, and dangerous goods.
“Our new cargo facility will enable us to meet the rapidly growing demand for our efficient and reliable services, providing best-in-class solutions to our customers,” dnata’s Divisional Senior Vice President for Airport Operations, David Barker, said.
