6 designs to look out for in Georges Chakra’s Spring 2022 couture collection
-
Inspiration
The collection drew inspiration from Classical Greece, a period of around 200 years in Ancient Greece. This period in history is interpreted into wearable pieces imbued with light, balance and passion.
-
Setting
The Beirut-born couturier presented his new collection in an abandoned Parisian garage. The contrast between the collection’s exquisite designs and the brutalist setting is stark yet dramatic.
-
Fabrics
Finely pleated crepe, ethereal chiffon, tailored crepe, supple jersey and luminescent maille are some of the luxurious materials that make up the offering.
-
Color palette
Dusty pastels, iridescent seashell tones, powdered amethyst, dreamy blue and traces of metallic gold and silver shimmer throughout.
-
Embellishments
Sequins and embroidery emphasize the structure of every garment, drawing attention to the subtle asymmetry of a neckline or heightening the visual effect of a geometric design.
-
Bridal look
The final look is a wedding dress: A full skirted gown in vanilla-tinted mesh guipure appliquéd with lustrous petals of organza and embroidered with threads of gold.
