Mohamed Henedy Ahmed Abdel Gawad, known professionally as Mohamed Henedy, is an Egyptian comedian and actor born in Giza. As a teenager, Henedy was discovered by the late director Youssef Chahine who gave Henedy a role in one of his films.
Henedy’s passion for film and TV drove him to pursue a bachelor’s degree in cinema which eventually scored him important roles in well-known films and earned him various awards.
An icon of modern Egyptian TV, Henedy acted alongside other significant names in Egyptian cinema, including Adel Imam, Youssra, Ahmad Sakka, Mona Zaki, and many more.
Considered to be the Robert De Niro of the Middle East, Henedy also dubbed the voices of the animated characters Timon, Mike Wazowski and Homer Simpson for the Egyptian versions of “The Lion King,” “Monsters, Inc.,” and “The Simpsons” respectively.
