Ahmed Muhammad Helmy Awwad, known professionally as Ahmed Helmy, is an Egyptian actor, comedian, film producer, TV host and diplomat.
As a child, Helmy relocated to Saudi Arabia due to his father’s work and lived there for over 10 years. He eventually returned to Egypt to study and obtained a degree in dramatic arts from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts. In 1993, Ahmed graduated from the Egyptian Academy of Arts.
His first acting job was a role in a program called “Leib Eyal” which kickstarted his career. He was discovered by director Sherif Arafa who instantly fell in love with his comedic style and later cast him in his film “Aboud Ala El-Hedoud.”
A Multiple award winner, Helmy was a judge on the Arab talent show, “Arabs Got Talent,” for its third season. He is also the author of a book called “28 Letters.”
