DUBAI: Mrs Jordan Jaclyn Stapp and Mrs UAE Debanjali Kamstra narrowly missed the crown at the 2022 Mrs World competition on Jan. 15.
The beauty queens who wowed the judges in Las Vegas, Nevada, were declared as the first and second runner ups, respectively, while Mrs America, Shaylin Ford took home the coveted crown.
Kamstra was representing the UAE for the first time in the pageant’s history.
Ford beat out 57 other contestants for the title and was crowned by the reigning Mrs World Ireland, Kate Schneider.
Kamstra, 35, is an architect and opened her first interior design business, Veloche, in Dubai ten-years-ago.
For the national costume round, the beauty queen impressed judges in a falcon-inspired getup, made entirely of gold fabric and featuring a floor-length feather cape, clinching the award for the Most Exotic Costume.
Meanwhile, Stapp, 41, was born to Jordanian parents who left the Middle East for New York and later settled in Florida.
An avid philanthropist, the model and actress is the founder of non-profit organization Children Are Magical (Charm), which aims to raise awareness of children’s issues and provide underprivileged youth with the tools to help with their education.
In addition to gracing magazine covers in the US, Stapp has appeared in a variety of television shows and her acting credits include episodes of “Full House,” “Second Noah” and “Sex and the City.”
At the Mrs World pageant final, Stapp blew the judges away in the swimwear round, scooping up the Congeniality Award, which is presented to contestants for their pleasant personalities.
