CAIRO: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has called for the formulation of a clear African strategy to combat extremism and terrorism and dry up their sources of funding.
This came during a speech delivered remotely on his behalf by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly at an African Union meeting.
It was held under the chairmanship of Felix Tshisekedi, president of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and current president of the AU, in order to discuss African issues.
El-Sisi highlighted Egypt’s efforts to assist African countries by intensifying counterterror training and participating in UN peacekeeping missions.
He stressed that Egypt will spare no effort to work with African countries in overcoming challenges facing the continent and achieving the goals and aspirations of its peoples.
