RIYADH: Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed bin Abdulkarim Al-Khuraiji received the secretary-general of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hissein Brahim Taha, at the ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh on Thursday.

The pair discussed cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the OIC in all areas, and ways to enhance it in order to support joint Islamic action, as well as other topics of common interest.

The meeting was attended by the Foreign Ministry’s undersecretary for multilateral international affairs, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Rassi.

At the meeting of the Islamic Committee of the International Crescent, a specialized body of the OIC, Taha said the committee was meeting at a time when a new reality was taking shape across the Muslim world, posing heavy humanitarian challenges that could only be addressed through genuine solidarity action.

The OIC pays special attention to the work done by the ICIC and other humanitarian organizations to relieve the pain of victims of disasters, conflicts and wars across the Muslim world, Taha said.
