Obaid Abdullah Al-Rasheed has been the managing director and chief executive officer of the Arab National Bank since February last year.
Prior to that, he was a deputy CEO of the bank for 10 years and has spent his entire career of almost four decades working in the Saudi banking sector.
During that time, he has risen through the ranks from frontline roles to become one of the leading names in the Kingdom’s banking industry.
His experience, insight, knowledge, and energy have brought him success in business areas including branch management, retail, private banking, and senior leadership.
At ANB, Al-Rasheed chairs the senior credit, and assets and liability committees and is also a member of the executive, and strategy committees.
In addition, he is a board member of Saudi Home Loans, vice chairman of the board of Saudi Chemical Co., and a board member of Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Services Group.
Al-Rasheed was previously employed as an independent director by Malath Cooperative Insurance Co.
Al-Rasheed is a co-founder of RealCAPITA BSC, and a chairman at Al-Arabi Heavy Equipment Lease Co., a subsidiary of ANB. The company is a market leader in crane rental services in Saudi Arabia.
He gained a bachelor’s degree in business administration from San Jose State University, in California.
