Who’s Who: Dr. Nazeeh Shuja Alothmany, deputy secretary-general at Mawhiba

Dr. Nazeeh Shuja Alothmany has been deputy secretary-general for corporate communications and business development at King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) since August 2019.
Alothmany, who is also an associate professor of electrical and biomedical engineering at the Jeddah-based King Abdulaziz University, works toward establishing a knowledge-based economy and society through promoting entrepreneurship, localization of technology and supporting gifted students. He has been a World Health Organization medical devices expert since October 2016.
Alothmany has been a certified instructor for the “Total Leader” program at the Jeddah branch of the Leadership Management Institute, US, since January 2012. He also worked as vice executive president for medical devices at the Saudi Food and Drugs Authority, and as a board member of the Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization from 2015 to 2017.
For more than 16 months beginning in March 2014, Alothmany provided consultancy services to the vice minister of health for planning and development. He was also a project manager for the Health Ministry’s investment plan. Alothmany was a consultant for the deputy minister of health for planning and health economics, as well as project manager for the Health Ministry’s initiative in medical equipment manufacturing.
From 2011 to 2013, he served as the international collaboration coordinator at KAU University’s Faculty of Engineering, where he was also a consultant for quality assurance in biomedical engineering services between 2009 and 2013. Alothmany also became president of the biomedical engineering and radiation protection house of experts.
