ISLAMABAD: A delegation of Saudi armed forces, led by Brig.-General Amer Moghram Al-Shehri, on Thursday witnessed a field, fire and battle exercise in Pakistan, the Pakistani military said in a statement.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy deep-rooted brotherly and defense ties. In October, Pakistani and Saudi forces conducted the joint Naseem Al-Bahr 13 naval exercise in the Arabian Sea near Karachi with Saudi F-15 aircraft participating in a missile-firing drill for the first time.
Saudi Naval Forces Commander, General Fahad Bin Abdullah Al Ghofaily, had also traveled to Pakistan to witness the exercise.
“Visiting Saudi delegation appreciated the concept, skillful planning and professional conduct of exercise and lauded training standards and operational readiness of the participating troops,” said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistani military’s media wing.

The development comes months after Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited the Kingdom, where he held talks with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and senior Saudi officials to review bilateral relations.
In July 2020, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud also discussed strengthening security cooperation with General Bajwa at the Pakistan Army’s headquarters in Rawalpindi.
