WH Smith to open at Jeddah Airport after Tihama deal

CAIRO: Tihama Advertising Public Relations and Marketing Co. has signed a contract with the General Authority of Civil Aviation to lease six WH Smith stores at Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport.

Tihama Education, a division of the Tadawul-listed company, will operate the six retail outlets under a franchise arrangement in the airport’s terminals.

Tihama has an existing partnership with WH Smith, one of the world’s largest travel retailers, at Riyadh Airport and in the UAE.

The total value of the deal exceeds 10 percent of the Tihama’s net assets, indicating that the duration of the contract is five years.
