RIYADH: Abu Dhabi’s Group 42 (G42) supported by Mubadala Investment Co. plans to start trials for the Middle East’s first driverless cars this month, Bloomberg reported.
G42's Bayanat unit will begin the first phase with five cars on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
The cars will have a safety officer in the vehicle and will transport passengers between nine stops.
The second phase will include more vehicles in multiple locations across Abu Dhabi.
