RIYADH: Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani on Wednesday appointed Sheikh Bandar bin Mohamed bin Saud al-Thani as Central Bank Governor, Reuters reported citing a statement on the website of the Emiri court.
Sheikh Bandar previously served as President of the state Audit Bureau of the energy-rich country. Abdulaziz bin Mohamed al-Emadi will replace him in this role.
The outgoing governor, Sheikh Abdulla Bin Saoud Al-Thani, has run the Central Bank since 2006.
