RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s crown prince affirmed the Kingdom's commitment to enhancing the stability of global energy markets in light of the availability of safe technologies to manage and reduce carbon emissions on Wednesday.
During a phone call with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also discussed issues of common interest.
Johnson praised the Kingdom’s pledge to cut its carbon emissions to net zero by 2060 and its efforts to transition away from fossil fuels during the call.
The two leaders “discussed the importance of making progress in negotiations in the final days of COP26, including on finalising the outstanding elements of the Paris Rulebook,” the prime minister’s office said.
Johnson “said all countries needed to come to the table with increased ambition if we are to keep the target of limiting global warming to 1.5C alive.”
