Jomana Al-Rashed is the first Saudi Arabian woman to be appointed CEO of the Saudi Research and Media Group, a Saudi Arabia-based integrated publishing company that distributes various publications, including Asharq Al-Awsat and Arab News.
Previously a media adviser and communications director, Al-Rashed received her master’s degree in international journalism from City University in London.
Recently, Al-Rashed announced the launch of various new SRMG products, most notably the Arab world’s first Arabic-language manga magazine for both adults and children.
Under Al-Rashed’s auspices, the SRMG launched the “By women, for all” initiative on International Women’s Day whereby an all-women team of journalists and media practitioners takes over editorial content and press coverage for the day, including special interviews, op-eds and dedicated articles. The initiative was launched across all SRMG subsidiary newspapers, including Arab News, Asharq Al-Awsat, Sayidaty and Hia magazines.
Al-Rashed is currently undertaking a digital transformation of the SRMG in alignment with Vision 2030.
