Saudi air defenses destroy three Houthi drones headed towards Khamis Mushait

RIYADH: The Arab coalition announced on Tuesday the interception and destruction of three bomb-laden drones launched by the Iran-backed Houthi militants in Yemen directed at Khamis Mushayt in Saudi Arabia.
The coalition said it took measures to protect civilians in the area in accordance with international humanitarian law.
The Kingdom of Bahrain condemned the attack targeting the Saudi city, stressing that these cowardly attacks pose a grave danger to the security and safety of civilians and civilian objects.
The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs commended the efficiency and vigilance of the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces, which successfully destroyed the two drones.
It confirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s full support for all the measures Saudi Arabia takes to maintain the country’s security.

The Iran-backed Houthis have repeatedly attacked civilian targets in Saudi Arabia with ballistic missiles, armed drones and rockets.

Bahrain stressed the need for international condemnation of the attack to deter the Houthis and put an end to their violations.
This is not the first attack on the city. In early August, two booby-trapped drones were launched by Houthi militants in Yemen and were intercepted and destroyed by Saudi air defenses, according to the coalition.
The Iran-backed Houthis have repeatedly attacked civilian targets in Saudi Arabia with ballistic missiles, armed drones and rockets.
On Monday, the Arab coalition confirmed that it had destroyed two Houthi booby-trapped boats in the Salif region and thwarted an imminent attack.
The coalition condemned continued Houthi threats to navigation in the Bab Al-Mandab Strait and the southern Red Sea.
Recent attempted attacks by the Houthis have drawn condemnation from several Arab and Western countries, which have stressed their support for Saudi Arabia and its security
