RIYADH: Saudi Arabia recorded 458 new coronavirus disease cases on Friday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 541,201, the Ministry of Health said.

Of Friday’s cases, 123 were in the Riyadh region, 71 in Makkah and 45 in Qassim. Baha was the region with the lowest case count, posting just eight.

Some 753 new recoveries were also reported, raising the total number to 527,189.

With the high recovery rate, the number of active cases have declined to 5,554, of which 1,205 are in critical care.

Nine people died in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths to 8,458.

More than 33.5 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the Kingdom.

The ministry renewed its call for citizens and residents to register with the Sehhaty app to receive vaccines, and adhere to the precautionary measures and abide by instructions.
