Al-Nassr’s new signings have kicked off their Saudi Pro League careers in the best possible manner by helping the Riyadh club to a 4-1 win over Damac in their opening fixture of the 2021-22 season at Mrsool Park on Friday night.

It was the familiar figure of the Moroccan Abderzzaq Hamdallah who opened the scoring with a penalty after only four minutes, and the Brazilian newcomer Anderson Talisca doubled the lead with a header five minutes before the break.

Just two minutes later, the match all but ended as contest when Damac defender Muhannad Al-Najei put the ball into his own net.

The visitors reduced the deficit six minutes into the second half through a penalty converted by the Argentine Emilio Zelaya.

But another of Al-Nassr’s debutants, the Cameroonian substitute Vincent Aboubakar, completed the rout with a fourth goal 10 minutes from the end.

In the night’s other match Al-Ahli could only manage disappointing draw at home against Al-Faisaly. The visitors took the lead on 27 minutes through French forward Romain Amalfitano, before Mohammed Al-Majhad salvaged a point for Al-Ahli.
