Who’s Who: Fahad Al-Amoud, executive director at Saudi Arabia’s Local Content and Government Procurement Authority

Fahad Al-Amoud has been the executive director of planning and support at the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority in Riyadh since May 2020.

Established in 2018, the authority is concerned with developing and improving local content with regards to achieving financial goals set by the state.

Al-Amoud leads strategic alignment activities with government entities for key development tools, as well as leading the strategic definition of procurement categories, ensuring increasing local content contribution to government procurement, and various other responsibilities.

Prior to his current role, Al-Amoud was director of supply chain support at the Advanced Electronics Co. in Riyadh between 2018 and 2020. He led the functions of procurement (both direct and indirect), and government liaison.

Al-Amoud worked as a provision manager at Airbus Defense and Space in Riyadh from 2016 to 2018, and as the Saudi Arabia operation manager at the architectural facade company Multiforms between Riyadh and Dubai from 2015 to 2016.

He was also the operation planning and control manager at Advanced Electronics Co. in Riyadh between 2009 and 2014.

Al-Amoud holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from King Saud University in Riyadh, and received a project management professional certificate from the US-based Project Management Institute.
