JEDDAH: Officials at schools and educational institutions in Saudi Arabia can now track and view data — including health, vaccination and infection status — for students and staff members through the Tawakkalna app.
The “we are learning with caution” section shows details such as the number of students and staff to have come into contact with infected individuals, the number of infected people, and the number of those immunized.
Each student and staff member’s details are also displayed in the portal: ID number, name, category, and health status. A search option for specific ID numbers is also available via the search icon.
Senior staff can also log in and out of their institution’s profile — through Tawakkalna — by scanning the code for it or manually entering data.

Students are expected to return to school for the first semester of the new academic year by the end of August. Only fully jabbed students at the intermediate and secondary levels can physically return to school, the Saudi Ministry of Education has said, while primary students will continue their education online, as will those who are at an intermediate level but younger than 12 years old.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education said it has allocated more than SR1.147 billion ($305 million) for annual maintenance and cleaning contracts in schools in preparation for the return of students.
The ministry said it also implemented 132 refurbishment operations at a cost of more than SR207 million, 23 restoration operations at around SR32 million, and 33 additional operations to prepare buildings worth SR36 million.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Projects and Maintenance, Abdul Rahman Al-Shaya, said the ministry approved an additional operating budget of SR65 million to secure preventative equipment and materials in schools, including over 25 million masks and sanitzers
King Abdulaziz University announced students who have received both doses of the vaccine may attend classes for all its academic levels (diploma, bachelor, postgraduate studies), according to directives issued by the education and health ministries.
The university urged all students and employees to quickly take their doses before the start of the academic year on Aug. 29, adding that it has also allocated a vaccine center in the main building for all students, employees and their families.
