MAKKAH: The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques distributed 60,000 umbrellas to pilgrims and workers at the Grand Mosque on Tuesday for protection from the sunshine and heat during Tawaf Al-Ifadah.
The director general of the social services department at the general presidency, Janadi bin Ali Madkhali, said the presidency is keen to maintain the safety of visitors and pilgrims along with security staff and health workers at the Grand Mosque.
The presidency and other concerned authorities organizied the entry of pilgrims to the Grand Mosque through specific doors for each group of pilgrims, and according to the highest preventive measures and the application of physical distancing, while performing the Tawaf around the Holy Kaaba, which contributed to the flow and facilitation of the movement of pilgrims.
The presidency has also intensified work on artificial intelligence (AI) robots for sterilization, epidemic control and the distribution of Zamzam water in the Grand Mosque.
