ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's naval ship Zulfiquar has visited the port of Aqaba in southern Jordan to participate in centennial celebrations of the kingdom's establishment and a joint drill with the Royal Jordanian Naval Force, the Pakistan Navy said on Friday.
This year marks the centenary anniversary of the establishment of the Kingdom of Jordan.
PNS Zulfiquar's visit was a part of the navy's overseas deployment to the Mediterranean and Red Sea.
"A contingent of PN participated in centennial celebrations of Kingdom of Jordan. #PakNavy Ship also conducted Passage exercise with RJNF," the navy said in a Twitter post, sharing footage from the visit.
Mission commander Commodore Syed Rizwan Khalid and PNS Zulfiquar commanding officer Captain Rao Ahmed Imran Anwar met with Jordanian government and military officials.
"Recent visit of Pakistan Navy Ship to Port Aqaba and participation in the centennial celebrations was reaffirmation of PN-RJNF collaboration and is expected to further foster brotherly relations between Pakistan and Jordan," the navy said in a statement.
Upon departure, the frigate took part in a passage exercise with the RJNF.
