RIYADH: 5G telecommunications services reached three additional Saudi governorates during the first quarter of 2021, the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) announced in its quarterly Meqyas report.
Of the Kingdom’s 136 governorates, 53 had 5G services at the end of the quarter, amounting to 39 percent of the regions.
STC and Zain had deployed 5G services in 43 governorates, while Mobily offered it in 21 governorates, the report showed.
The average download speed of 5G services in the Kingdom was 322.42 Mbps during the quarter, CITC said.
Zain recorded the highest average download speed at 350.47 Mbps, STC came in second place with an average speed of 348.33, and Mobily came in third place with an average download speed of 231.83 Mbps.
