RIYADH: Hundreds of patients in northern Nigeria have received eye operations in just the first two days of a campaign by The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief).
The Saudi charity partnered with Al-Basar Global Charity Foundation to for a series of projects to combat blindness in the cities of Bauchi and Kano.
On Sunday and Monday, medical teams teams carried out more than 300 operations and detected more than 2,000 cases of blindness. Almost 500 pairs of glasses were distributed and about 1,100 eye prescriptions prepared.
The campaign will run until June 13 Nigeria and aims to assist poor families tunable to cover the costs of eye treatment.
The initiative between KSrelief and Al-Basar aims to carry out 41 campaigns in Yemen, Bangladesh, Sudan Nigeria, and Pakistan to save people’s vision.
