DUBAI: The UAE is now the world’s leading nation in its vaccination race efforts to combat coronavirus, the country’s health ministry revealed Tuesday.
The country’s National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority, said in a tweet: “We are pleased to announce that the UAE is at the top of vaccine distribution rate, becoming the first country in vaccine distribution per 100 people worldwide.”
“This achievement is a testament to the success of the national vaccination campaign and the country’s proactive approach to achieving a sustainable recovery,” the ministry added.

Latest figures by NCEMA show that more than 78.11 per cent of residents and citizens in the UAE have now been vaccinated against COVID-19.
It also states that 84.59 percent of those aged 60 and above have been vaccinated.
The UAE offers Sinopharm, Pfizer, and Sputnik-V vaccines for residents and nationals.
On Tuesday, the UAE said attending events in the country will only be open to those vaccinated against Covid-19 and who have tested negative on a PCR test, state news agency WAM reported.
UAE health sector spokesman Farida Al-Hosani said the new rules would come into force from June 6, adding that precautionary measures, such as face masks and social distancing, would remain in place.
