Saudi Arabia records 14 COVID-19 deaths, 999 new cases

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia recorded 14 new COVID-19 related deaths on Tuesday, raising the total number of fatalities to 7,006.
The Ministry of Health confirmed 999 new confirmed cases reported in the Kingdom in the previous 24 hours, meaning 421,300 people have now contracted the disease. 
Of the total number of cases, 9,587 remain active and 1,356 in critical condition.
According to the ministry, the highest number of cases were recorded in the capital Riyadh with 398, followed by Makkah with 241, the Eastern Province with 111, Asir recorded 50 and Madinah confirmed 48 cases.

The ministry also announced that 1,005 patients had recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries in the Kingdom to 404,707.
The ministry renewed its call on the public to register to receive the vaccine, and adhere to the measures and abide by instructions.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs temporary closed 12 mosques in six regions after 12 people tested positive for coronavirus, bringing the total number of mosques closed to 1,030 within 87 days, 1,001 of which have reopened after being sterilized.
The ministry also directed all its regional branches to expand the places where Eid Al-Fitr prayers will be held, and should be held 15 minutes after sunrise, while adhering to all the precautionary measures inside the mosques.
