Saudi leaders offer condolences over death of Chadian President Idriss Deby

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s King Salman on Monday sent a cable of condolences to head of Chad’s Transitional Military Council Mahamat Idriss Deby, Saudi Press Agency reported.
The funeral of Chad’s slain leader Idriss Deby was held on Friday, with French President Emmanuel Macron leading tributes to the long-ruling strongman whose death has thrown the country into crisis. He was killed last week in a battle against rebels.
The king said: “We have received with great sorrow the news of the death of President Idriss Deby Itno, and we send you, the family of the deceased, and the Chadian people our warmest condolences and sincere sympathy.”
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also sent a similar cable to the the head of the council.
