RIYADH: The National Center for Plant Cover Development and Combating Desertification has launched the “plant” initiative in cooperation with the Saa’i Foundation for the Rehabilitation and Employment of the Disabled.
The initiative, launched in Huraymila National Park, seeks to involve people with disabilities and their families in developing green cover, in line with the Saudi Vision 2030 aim to involve all society groups in the development of the Kingdom.
CEO of the center, Dr. Khaled Al-Abdulqader, said the initiative reflected the center’s belief in the importance of supporting and integrating people with disabilities into society as well as benefiting from their exceptional capacities and determination.
Al-Abdulqader stressed his center’s determination to rehabilitate all national parks to provide full advantage for people with disabilities, along with training parks’ employees to address any issues that may arise.
He said: “The initiative comes in line with the ambitious Saudi vision aiming to promote cooperation between the private and public sectors and the governmental authorities to develop the plant cover and combat desertification within the social responsibilities, to increase the green space in the Kingdom.”
