KSrelief chief, Mauritius envoy discuss wider cooperation on anti-COVID-19 campaign

Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah , supervisor general of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), met with the Mauritius ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Showkutally Soodhun, in Riyadh on Tuesday to discuss strengthening cooperation to confront the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, as well as the latest developments in programs being implemented by KSrelief in Mauritius.

The envoy thanked the Kingdom, represented by KSrelief, for its humanitarian projects in Mauritius in the fields of early recovery and food security, and praised the professional performance of KSrelief and its support for needy countries worldwide.

Since launching in 2015, KSrelief has implemented 1,544 projects worth a total of almost $5 billion in 59 countries. The projects were carried out in cooperation with 144 local, regional and international partners.

According to a recent KSrelief report, the countries and territories that benefited the most from the center’s projects were Yemen ($3.5 billion), Palestine ($363 million), Syria ($305 million) and Somalia ($203 million).
