Saudi Arabia confident deficiencies in Iran nuclear program will be addressed: FM

LONDON: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said the Kingdom is confident the international community will work diligently to address the shortcomings in the Iranian nuclear agreement and the instability in the region due to the regime’s activities.
He said on Sunday that his country had received assurances that any new nuclear agreement would be more binding on Iran.
Prince Faisal said “the issue of Iran’s commitment will be with regard to its missile capabilities and its support for armed groups in the region.”
He also said: “We are ready for dialogue if Iran changes its behavior.”
His comments come as Iran-backed militias have stepped up their attacks on the Kingdom in recent weeks, targeting populated areas and vital and oil installations.
On Saturday, France called on Iran to cease any violation of its nuclear obligations to support the ongoing talks on the 2015 nuclear deal, which will be held in Vienna on Thursday.
In a phone call with his Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif, Le Drian called on Tehran to be “constructive” during the talks in order to “identify in the coming weeks what needs to be done for a full return to respecting the agreement.”

The 2015 nuclear deal saw Iran granted relief from international sanctions in exchange for accepting limits on its program aimed at easing fears that it could acquire atomic weapons.
