RIYADH: Authorities in Saudi Arabia, working with their counterparts at Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior, have foiled an attempt to smuggle almost 3 million amphetamine pills.
Mohammed Al-Najidi, spokesman for the General Directorate for Narcotics Control, said on Friday that the drugs were hidden in a shipment of stone and marble, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The operation was carried out in coordination with the General Customs Authority at King Abdul Aziz port in Dammam.
Two citizens were arrested and they have been referred to the Public Prosecution, Al-Najidi added.
