RIYADH: Saudi authorities foiled an attempt by two foreign nationals to smuggle 2.5 million amphetamine pills into the Kingdom.
Capt. Mohammed bin Khaled Al-Najidi, a spokesperson for the General Directorate for Narcotics Control, said security officials discovered the large quantity of pills hidden in a ready-mixed concrete truck.
Al-Najidi added that the smugglers, who hail from Sudan and Jordan, have been arrested.
He said that preliminary legal measures have been taken against the pair and that they have been referred to the Public Prosecution. He urged anyone with information on drug activity to call 995.
