RIYADH: Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad met with Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan in the capital Doha on Monday, during an official visit.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan “conveyed greetings from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to their brother, the Qatari emir, who reciprocated greetings and appreciation to them, and to the government and people of Saudi Arabia,” said the Kingdom’s foreign ministry.
During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations, discussed international developments, and covered issues of common interest.
Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt ended a three-year rift with Qatar following a Gulf summit in the historic Saudi city of AlUla in January.
The Saudi minister, who arrived in Doha earlier on Monday, also held official talks with his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman.
Both sides discussed the importance of enhancing joint Arab and Gulf action, and said they “rejected any threat to the security and stability of the region and the world.”
They also discussed regional and international developments and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
