Saudi Arabia records three COVID-19 deaths, 216 new cases

• The total number of recoveries in the Kingdom has increased to 358,545
• A total of 6,363 people have succumbed to the virus in the Kingdom so far

JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia reported three COVID-19-related deaths in the previous 24 hours. The death toll now stands at 6,363.
The Health Ministry announced 216 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, meaning that 367,023 people have now contracted the disease. There are 2,115 active cases, 348 in critical condition.
Of the new cases, 62 were reported in Riyadh, 21 in Dammam, and 17 in Jeddah.
In addition, 205 patients recovered from the disease, bringing the total to 358,545 recoveries.
Saudis and expats in the Kingdom continue to receive their doses of the coronavirus vaccine, which they registered for through the Ministry of Health’s Sehhaty app.
Many people have had their second dose of the vaccine. Each dose contains 0.3 ml of the vaccine, which patients receive in a different arm each time, Al-Ekhbariyah TV reported.
Also, if someone contracts the virus after the first shot, they are advised to wait until their full recovery before they get their second dose.
Saudi Arabia has so far conducted more than 12 million PCR tests, with 46,333 carried out in the past 24 hours.
Saudi health clinics set up by the ministry as testing hubs or treatment centers have helped hundreds of thousands of people around the Kingdom since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
Among those testing hubs are Taakad (Make sure) centers and Tetamman (Rest assured) clinics.
Taakad centers provide COVID-19 testing for those who show no or mild symptoms or believe they have come into contact with an infected individual, while the Tettamman clinics offer treatment and advice to those with virus symptoms, such as fever, loss of taste and smell and breathing difficulties.
Appointments to either services can also be made through the ministry’s Sehhaty app.
Since their inception, Tetamman clinics and Taakad centers have benefitted 47,775 people in Najran, and 52,190 in Al-Baha.
