Dubai ruler encourages people to take COVID-19 vaccine

DUBAI: Dubai’s Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum encouraged individuals to receive the coronavirus vaccine in a tweet.
The United Arab Emirates’ Vice President said taking the vaccine would help protect everyone’s health.
“Taking the vaccine is every individual’s responsibility to protect their health, families and wider society,” Al-Maktoum tweeted.

The UAE has vaccinated 108,401 residents COVID-19 in the previous 24 hours, state news agency WAM reported.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) said the total of administered doses is at 1.27 million now.
The Gulf country has the second highest rate of coronavirus vaccinations in the world, after Israel. The UAE plans to vaccinate over 50 percent of its population.
