The UAE-based film event dedicated to Palestinian movies is returning for its 7th edition this month. Running from Jan. 22-30, the weeklong festival will screen independent Palestinian feature and short films at Alserkal Avenue in Dubai.

Directed by Palestinian filmmaker Najwa Najjar, this film is centered on a couple’s divorce proceedings.

‘200 Meters’
Palestinian director Ameen Nayfeh’s film tells the story of Mustafa, who is denied entry into Israel and forced to make a 200 kilometer journey in an attempt to reach his hospitalized son.

The David Osit-directed film follows Musa Hadid, the mayor of Ramallah, who is determined to make the city a beautiful place to live by repaving the sidewalks, attracting more tourism and planning the city’s holiday celebrations.

‘Kamal Boullata: Stranger at Home’
This documentary explores the return to Jerusalem of a friend of director Rudolf Van den Berg, the exiled Palestinian artist Kamal Boullata. The friends, who make the trip together, find themselves involved in a painful confrontation.
